Porsche Esports Supercup 2020 - Qualifiers

By: Alberto Segovia

After the first successful season 2019, the second edition of the Porsche Esports Supercup comes back stronger. The qualifying rounds have already begun thanks, once again, to the collaboration between Porsche and iRacing. There, the world's best virtual drivers will demonstrate their driving skills during twelve weeks.

In May 2020, the twenty top drivers of the standgints and the top 20 of the previous season will start a 10 week competition, including a two-day pre-season in the circuit of Barcelona, in which the drivers will be able to fine tuning the cars for the start of the season.

Once again, we could not miss our team at Isabel I University, Universidad Isabel I - PSR. Given the difficulty of the challenge, in which real top level drivers like Max Verstappen will be present, five of our drivers will be in charge of getting a position among the twenty best and representing our team in this second edition of that of the Porsche Esports Supercup.

the Isabel I University esports team, Universidad Isabel I - PSR, will be involved by five experienced drivers who will be key to the team. Javier Álvarez Benedí, the manager of the UI1-PSR (Positive SimRacing) team, commented on the team's objectives and roles in the competition.

This is a very complicated competition, in which the team's work together with engineering will take a fundamental role in achieving our objectives. The level of competition is maximum, so we are very cautious in aspirations.
We have the help of five experienced drivers who will be key to the team:

Renán Azeredo is one of the team's drivers, who joined the Driver Development Program in 2017, winner of the first event of the Porsche eSports Cup in Brazil, organized by iRacing Brazil (IRBeSports).
Jeff Giassi has just joined the team, winner of the last event of the Porsche eSports Carrera Cup in Brazil and a piece that we hope will be key in which we can face the challenge successfully.
Glenn Key is a driver specialized in Porsche. That has been formed in the team and for which it will be the second attempt.
Jake Burton comes from participating in the GFinity series Australia and is a VRS coach.
Eduardo Borget will be present and thanks to his work and preparation we hope he is an important driver in the championship.
Together with them, Christiaan Arp and Rasmus Busk will work supporting them in aspects of engineering and strategy.
